Welcome to Sigma Phi Epsilon Kentucky Beta Chapter

SigEp was founded on November 1, 1901 on the cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Today, over 255,000 men have joined the fraternity and taken a vow to uphold these values. With over 15,000 current undergraduates at more than 257 colleges across the nation, Sigma Phi Epsilon is the nation's largest fraternity.

Sigma Phi Epsilon is supported by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation. The Foundation was founded to help develop the scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and personal potential of SigEp undergraduates. The Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation provided over $1 million to Sigma Phi Epsilon in program support and scholarships in 2001. Ky Beta sees the fruits of this foundation when they send their men to the annual Carlson Leadership Academies, the Ruck Leadership Institute, or when they apply for and win scholarships such as the $1000 Hicks Scholarship, and the Balanced Man Quest to Greece.

Additionally, Sigma Phi Epsilon is the first fraternity to abolish the traditional pledging model for becoming brothers in the fraternity. There is no pledging and no hazing in the Balanced Man Chapters of Sigma Phi Epsilon. The traditional model has been replaced by an innovative new program called the Balanced Man Program

A SigEp Man follows three cardinal principles:

  •  Virtue - Standing aggressively for honesty in all walks of life. Speaking, playing, and living cleanly.
  • Diligence - Persevering determination to perform a task
  • Brotherly Love - True friendships. Aiding a brother in times of need, whatever the circumstances.

SigEp also has the strong support of the more than 255,000 brothers mentioned above. At the KY Beta chapter were currently in the process of an alumni fundraising program called the 100 Gives 100. For more info click on the alumni support tab located under the alumni section.

KY Beta SigEp Winners of an Excelsior Cup at Carlson Leadership Academy

The Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter here at the University of Louisville won an Excelsior Cup for Volunteers during this school year. The growing Alumni ranks produced an expansion inside the Alumni Volunteer Corporation. This is a very prestigious award given only to the chapters that put in work that is beyond the expected amount. Congrats KY Beta Alumni, Volunteers, and Undergrads!

Great Spring Semester

Spring semester has finally come, though there is snow on the ground and the temperature outside is in the single digits. SigEp wishes everyone a great semester filled with good times and great brotherhood.

Happy New Year

Sigma Phi Epsilon at the University of Louisville would like to wish all it's members, member's family, and fellow chapter alumni a happy new year and the hope for a great upcoming year!

SigEp Volleyball

In Fraternity League, SigEp went to the semi finals, losing to SAE 2-1. It was a tough loss, but the Campus League team put a smile on everyone's face winning their second straight game and making it to the 3rd round of their tournament. Congrats to all the players. We are proud of both teams.

Swimming Champs!

Congratulations to the brothers that participated in the Intramural Swim Meet.  Placing second only to the crazy Med Schoolers in the overall put us at the top of the Fraternity League.  Congratulations to Brad Gasior, Ben Merkie, Alex Davis and Jacob Reynolds for their top finishing relays, and thanks to all the other SigEp participants!

Election Results

Congratulations to Evan Baumer, the President-elect, and all the other brothers elected to EC and the Standards Board.
